Ngouille Yabsa Ndiaye

Ngouille is a passionate advocate for global health equity. Prior to joining Sankofa, for over three years, Ngouille held a key role as the lead of the data analysis desk within the WHO Learning and Capacity Unit of the World Health Emergencies Programme. By utilizing user metrics and capturing trends, Ngouille facilitated informed decision-making to meet the evolving needs of global users during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Trained in both quantitative and qualitative research, her research record includes documenting and publishing critical lessons learned from WHO knowledge transfer efforts during the pandemic, particularly focused on the OpenWHO.com learning platform. Additionally, Ngouille Yabsa served as a research associate at the Stanford Center for Health Education, investigating the impact of experimental research on COVID-19 Vaccine Training in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 

With a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Montreal and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the same institution, Ngouille brings a strong academic background to their work. Her passion for working with evidence-based data includes impact-based assessments. She conceived and led an extensive process evaluation initiative in the city of Cape Town, conducting qualitative work for the Chronic Disease Initiative aiming to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes following gestational diabetes in South Africa. This involved conducting observational studies and key informant interviews across all three levels of the healthcare system and within the intervention team.

Ngouille Yabsa has a strong ability to work in different contexts and languages -English, French, Wolof, Spanish - with a culturally sensitive approach. Her unwavering commitment to equity and sustainable change drives her work and guarantees absolute commitment in all her undertakings.
