Shaiza brings a wealth of experience in consulting, government, and global public health to her role as a Research Associate at Sankofa. Trained in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, she aims to seamlessly merge her technical skills with cultural insight. She recently completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), with a concentration in Global Health and a specialization in Epidemiology and Nonprofit Leadership. She also holds a BA in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado-Boulder.

During her tenure with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health and in her consulting roles with organizations such as the Mothers’ Day Movement and the Nationalities Service Center, Shaiza has demonstrated her ability to lead large-scale health initiatives and adeptly transform complex data into actionable insights. Globally, she has worked with JHPIEGO and the International Center for Diarrhoeal Disease in Bangladesh (icddr,b), further underscoring her commitment to international development and adaptability in diverse cultural settings. With a keen interest in cultural nuances, Shaiza prioritizes creating programs and MEL systems that genuinely resonate with their intended communities.

Equipped with tools like STATA, R Studio, and NVivo and fluent in languages including Bengali, Hindi, and French, Shaiza is poised to navigate the multifaceted realm of data-driven decision-making. At Sankofa, her dedication extends beyond data, focusing on creating solutions that genuinely empower and elevate communities.
